About us

The Collaborative Family Law group is made up of leading lawyers – senior solicitors, Leading Counsel and – uniquely – retired High Court Judges. All are members of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a worldwide network of leading specialists in divorce and family law.

All of us are trained as collaborative lawyers. Some are trained also as mediators, and also specialise in Lawyer Assisted Mediation. Some members of the group conduct Private Hearings.

Some of our members

Teresa Cullen

Teresa has particular expertise in international and cross border divorces and high value financial claims. Her experience includes TOLATA claims, contested Probate and Inheritance Act claims. Teresa speaks Spanish and Italian at differing levels.

Timothy Scott QC

Tim Scott is a senior QC and part-time Judge. Most of his practice has an international element. He is a mediator and collaborative lawyer and conducts private hearings. He has also trained as an arbitrator.

Ann Thomas

Ann specialises in all aspects of family law and has advanced Law Society accreditation as a specialist family law solicitor.

Maggie Rae

Maggie is a partner in Clintons’ family department. She specialises in all aspects of family law. She writes and lectures extensively and is co-author of “Pensions and Matrimonial Breakdown” and co-author of International Family Law. She lives in London and her hobbies are reading, cooking and painting.

Catherine Hallam

Working from Burges Salmon's offices in London and Bristol, Catherine has particular experience in resolving financial and other agreements in non-confrontational and constructive ways, allowing couples to choose the process that suits them.
